I forget the name of the bone, but its right becide that. What is it called?
I've been running alot, its hurting along with my cavs. So what's it called?
-
you are talking about the anterior tibial muscle that's the front(ish) near the shin bone (lower leg)?
But I think the pain you are referring to is shin splints.. I get them too..

Yes bye the shin bone

Thank you. It don't hurt has bad as it did a few days ago, but I cna defiently still feel it. DO you think it'll be better in 3 and half weeks by the time track seasons starts. I'll be going like 3 or 4 days of running until then and threw then. Long distance and sprints. So chances are it won't. Ha oh well

I am not a doctor, but chances are they will still hurt by then. I only got them recently.. but I cannot run without pain and now have to limit my jogging and often do power walking instead.
You can build them up so the pain is lessened (or so my PT tells me) and I walk backwards often while training to help this.
Good luck.. I hope you can find some relief...

Do you think heating or icing it will do it good.

Ah man. I didn't have shin splints before, but now I do. Ah man. I don't know what it was before, but it defiently wasn't shin splints. These are worse man ahh
-
RICE is probably the best idea. I would guess Ibuprofen would help, but you better check with somebody that knows what they are talking about.

What does RICE stand for again?
I talked to the track coach and he said ice 20 on 20 off

You're welcome.
I've read conflicting reports on what to do for shin splits. Some said continue running, others said to make sure to heal completely so I don't know what to tell you.
PLEASE don't rely on your coaches for medical advice!!! If possible get your parents to take you to the doctor, and if it's not possible it's best to err on the side caution and take the time you need to heal completely. I'm speaking from experience. I played ball with shin splits.....I don't know how you can continue running successfully in track with them...the pain is extreme. I lived for baseball/softball, I played way too many times injured. I even played in a cast from my ankle to my hip! I was stupid to do it. The price is very high. It cost me a full athletic scholarship and I eventually injured myself so badly that I was never able to play again.

My PT says to not aggravate them.. there are ways you can build up assisting muscle, but it takes a while...
-
What I don't get is my legs are freaking ripped. Ha
But yeah in track all i'm doing is riding the bike, push ups, and sit up.
-
How are your gluteal muscles? apparently they are in on the action...
-
What muscles? ha?
-
What muscles? ha?
Sand facing a mirror.. turn 180 degrees, lower eyes to bum level.. those two cushions of softness.. they are your gluteal muscles.. tone and use as assisting muscle to lessen the pain of shin splints.
I'm still on step tone... but apparently it's going to help.

Gluteus Maximis?? ha
ah i se..
-
good luck... I'd be interested to know if you have any recovery from them.. you are obviously a lot younger and fitter than I am, and I have a feeling you haven't given birth to anything... so maybe your recovery time will be faster..

Yeah I'll keep you posted
