A machine will only do what it is programmed to do. It has no "motivation" to do anything else. I do not believe a machine capable of independent actions, other than what it's program dictates, will ever be made.

That sounds like a reasonable thought to me.  Now say, the programmer of the AI, programs a variety of alternative responses
to field the different responses that may come from individual humans in any given situation. In that the possibilities that may arise from any number of human responses depending on different possible scenarios  could lead the AI to alter its own response to the human in one of the ways that may have been programmed in any particular scenario in AI's programming. It would be similar to reasoning except that Humans respond in so many different situations in so many different ways it would be impossible, I would think to accommodate all the different responses! Don't ya think?

  Awww Thank you for the nice compliment.! I have been away a long while and have noticed  the element of fun missing from forum, and the chat area, where we normally go to get to know other members as well as non serious, or fun questions for a laugh, and subsequently, I have noticed a huge lack of members posting at any given time... and thus I would like to see the forum pick up in membership and get to know members better as well as helping others feel more comfortable exploring their very real science questions. I hope that many may come in here feeling less intimidated and more free to pose and reply to questions, as well, as asking them of the poster and other more knowledgeable folks in here.  Sometimes that little bit of humor that others offer more than I do.. really make it less intimidating for those who come here with maybe less science knowledge wanting to learn in a friendly fun environment.
Now on the more serious side of the original question, they make many brands of dry shampoo to be sprayed onto the hair to help remove that oily look when one is not able to catch their normal shampooing or are in a pinch in a hurry and need  to have a quick refresh... But if you haven't access to a commercial dry spray, you can substitute a simple sprinkle of talcum powder to your oily hair which will give you an extra day or so to get to a water source  to shampoo normally... It works well in a pinch and washes out easily at shampooing time.

 I think you're spot on with that  opinion on beauty, and I think that may influence your sheep question also. What they consider beauty may simply be a comfortable safe place to graze. Not necessarily the knowledge of the scene looking beautiful to the eye but looking and making them feel safe satisfied and at ease...

I think there is something to it as when you treat someone placebo wise without knowing you lesson their own stress about being sick which can drastically change how your body responds to fighting off disease etc.. Stressing can multiply and cause disease.. so by eliminating some stress from a placebo could help ease the fight or enhance the healing don't you think? Kinda in the same way adding stress can make things worse!

I completely agree with the stress related issues and know that many suffer from stomach ulcers where stress has certainly been a factor. So, I can  also accept the a stress free environment could facilitate the body to heal.

My daughters dog opens our front door regularly with his nose... we have a lever handle and not a knob..LOL.... He never fails to smell our dinner cooking and comes down from his house to ours just as we are eating.. LOL... Waltzes in and demands he have some dinner too! LOL second dinner in his case! He will start talking to you, and he sounds a lot like Charlie Brown's teacher in the cartoon!  LOL...

Oh about 44 to 46 degrees fahrenheit then.. not too bad.. it's about 55 degrees here right now and it's been raining. My Huge Catalpa tree is dropping it's dinner plate size leaves all over my patio and they are looking pretty brown and soggy right now! I need to go out and clean up this round as they can become slippery . The maples are too. My ferns have died back and need trimmed also. I'm spending my nights by the fire and enjoying the season. Hot cocoa and spiced cider with a warm blanket and a project and some soothing music, or movie, usually both. I find puzzles stimulating at times when my brain wants a break.. its quite relaxing.. LOL.. Do you enjoy any fun activities while your hibernating?  LOL

My daughter has had 2 dogs one who would walk in just enough to wet his pads in cold of winter.. then cringe and back out not go in...so he would test the water back off and really strongly hesitate and leave in cold weather. He didn't even like getting his oes wet in the cold water but the older Lab BUBA did not care he would run in regardless...Now in the same situation, 6 months later in the same place at the river, with just warmer summer weather, The hesitator would walk in pause and continue right on into the water, so I think it is a thing with some animals.. these were two different labs belonging to my daughter. Also the hesitant lab did not like getting his feet wet on a cold frosty wet ground either.. he was the one who would shiver and shake the most in inclement weather too. The older lab had thicker longer fur.. Our pitbull did not like the cold water at all, as well as not wanting to get his little princely feet wet..LOL He would hold his bathroom duties off as long as possible if it was wet crisp or cold outside.. he'd wait until the rain stopped, unless you made him follow you out on the leash.. LOL..  Then he kinda tip-toed out but did not want to leave the sidewalk to enter the wet grass... at first we thought it was a texture thing on the grass.. but it was a water thing instead.. if it was cold he hated it... same as the younger lab at the river. Perhaps different animals react differently maybe domesticated verses wild may enter into the equation.. and what they are used to.

     I imagine so..Little bugs that slip into dry areas for warmth may include fleas, ants and many other bugs. Hey do spiders eat other spider species that may wander into their webs?
