Title: How to convert LDL cholesterol concentration to LDL particle concentration?
Post by: scientizscht on 26/06/2020 11:14:26
Hello!

Can you tell me please how to convert LDL cholesterol concentration values to LDL particle concentration values?

The regular LDL results we get from the lab denote the cholesterol grams per litre of the LDL proteins.

However, I want to know the amount of actual LDL particles that this value corresponds to.

Particularly the small LDL particles that pass through endothelium and cause atherosclerosis.

Thanks!

If I told you that I have a swimming pool with a volume of 100 cubic metres and it had 500 kg of mixed oranges and strawberries  and in it, how would you work out the number of oranges per cubic metre?

(My swimming pool is full of a mixture of alcohol and water that has the same density as the fruit so they don't all float or sink)
