Joanne Rasmussen asked the Naked Scientists:
On a daily basis, can someone compute the amount (tonnage) of animal flesh that is killed, mostly for consumption? Consider, say, everything from krill, ants, and bigger.
Then, how much of that total is killed and consumed by humans?
I would be interested in the ratio.
Thank you,
Tom Rasmussen
