Title: Double Dreaming

I was awakened one morning by a low flying jet.  I could recall two distinct and different dreams which were broken by the noise of the jet. I can only conclude that I must have been experiencing two separate dreams simultaneously. Is this possible? I'm in two minds about it. [???]

Was is actually two different dreams or were you half awake and half asleep, in which case in that half awake/sleep state you might have remembered a previous dream and be thinking that you were dreaming two dreams simultaneously!! I know that something similar has happened to me...

There's always the 'dream within a dream' experience, where you think that you have woken up, but it's not until you really wake up that you know the previous one was just a dream.  Dreams do very funny things to your concept of time, so it could be that the jet woke you up a little, then you fell back into deep sleep for just a few seconds, and this was enough for your brain to conceive a second dream?

Having said that, I know very little about dreams, so I guess you could have several dreams at once.

I have had that same thing happen on several occassions. I don't know how that happens or why but have had two separate dreams going on at the same time...but usually at some point they kind of bleed together and  begin to feel like they are tied together!

On several occasions, I have woken up, busting for a pee and gone to the loo, only to find that I needed to wake up and go to the loo. Luckily, the inhibiting circuits knew that I was still in bed even if my "dream conscious self" didn't.

Great to hear someone else has experienced this. It was only one jet and not a dream within a dream.   Were it not for the fact both vivid dreams were broken by the same event I would have been totally unaware that they were concurrent. I have speculated that it might be two different parts of my brain or two hemispheres having different dreams. Is this possible??? [:-\]
