water was the origin of comet

Do you mean composition of a comet? of some comets? A comet doesn't neccessarily have to be made of water does it?
If so then yeah, why wouldn't we? Both hydrogen and oxygen are left over after the explosion of a supernova, and are likely to react with each other, so it makes sense that there'll be a fair bit of water out there.
