Beer and Wild Turkey
Time to be thirsty
Barmaid sure be busty
Makes me hot ‘n lusteeeee
Oh I got the DT blues……
Them tremors sure make me shake
Like standing in that big ‘quake
Oh I got the DT blues……
Empty bottle dun led
To another woman’s bed
Man that’s a rancid stink
Need me another drink
Looking for hair ‘o the dog
To git me outa this fog
Findin me an MD
To be checkin for VD
Oh I got the DT blues……
Them tremors sure make me shake
Like standing in that big ‘quake
Oh I got the DT blues……

Let's hear it to for the Blues! (Way to go Bass)
Technically, my good doctor, I guess there is no difference, just a matter of scale and/or distance from the epicenter.
(Gee, Thanks, Exodus. GREAT help with this one - glad that you're here. At least we will not be bored to death by dumb questions - OH, I didn't mean that, Eth.)
-
Thank you, JimBob - and grrrrrrr [:(!]
-
Perhaps I should say that earth tremors have other causes as well, such as the vicissitudes of old age - lazy bowels, nervous tremors, falling from one's zimmer frame, all sorts of tremors of this nature. Perhaps that is what you are experiencing, Doctor.

Have you thought of seeing a therapist? You seem to be quite angry these days.

My trusty cudgel is a lot cheaper than therapy (https://www.thenakedscientists.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fbestsmileys.com%2Fhitting%2F5.gif&hash=eee4fb19263c602b5dce30da69bdf108)

I get tremors after a rather heavy night on the pop.
-
Delirium tremors, err, that is tremens?
-
A thought (yes, I occasionally have one, Eth) ...
Gawd, we geologist are a rowdy lot, aren't we?

I hear no voices raised in dissent.

Is the geologists' motto "Geologists do it Gneissly"?
-
No, it is "Geologist have HUGE rocks."

Isn't Gneissly a place in Wales?
-
Gelogists will rock your world.
-
One is a film, the other is a geologic event?
I think you will find they are both films.
-
They certainly make your bedrock! especially if it involves cummingtonite!
-

I see you are using your new vocabulary well. My work is done.

Ah, well thats where you're not quite 100% correct... now you see TremorS was a film in about 1990 starring Kevin Bacon, i believe the other film you are referring to was Earthquake, released in 1974... now thats singular, not the plural EarthquakeS shown in the title.
-
Exodus, I'm ignoring your boistrous behaviour. Remember I am a lady and all that dirty, dirt and rock talk is making me blush.
Anyway, what's an S between friends.

I find a slap around the face often reddens cheeks.

Ah but that would ruin such a perfect evening that we've had...
-
What, an evening looking at your knobbly rocks.....far from perfect.

As you've not answered I presume you have gone to bed, alone.
-
And I doubt she is a lady, Exodus. Carries on like a ....

Ignore the beasts Doc. I think I have the answer to your original question. If you live in an earthquake zone you will feel slight movements from time to time. The first time I felt this in Tokyo I was stood on a station. I felt a slight vibration in the ground and looked around expecting to see trains. There were none. I asked one of my students about this and he said that it was just the Earth sighing. How poetic is that? I've also heard someone else describe it as the devil farting but I think that was a geologist (no peotry there!) Anyway most westerner refered to these slight vibrations as tremors. When a big Earthquake was on the way the frequency of these tremors increased. An Earthquake is when you switch off all the utilities, hide under the table and hope you come out alive.
-
But these tremors are due to small earthquakes.
-
I'm a woman, I know the difference between tremors and full blown ones.

I could answer with an analogy regarding females pertinent to this but I am too refined ...

Refined? I thought you were crude.

It just shows how far removed from gentry and refinement you are. We blue bloods are so different mongrel commoners such a you, Lady, you just cannot understand our ways.

I tried to define JimBob as a small feline beginning with P, but it said that I had swearified too. I don't understand what it thought I was trying to say but what I meant was big softy.
My son tried to write the phrase 'wet water' on a forum but it said he had sweared too. I think the computer has a dirty mind. This last one is hard to spot.

In the US that word has demeaning, rather crude connotation. Probably why it is on the "naughty" list.
-
On my site I can censor whatever words I want and replace them with anything. The possibilities are endless!
I can even call functions depending on what word is entered. I use that to keep track of how many times members swear and if they transgress too much I can send them an automatic warning or even bar them without having to lift a finger.
Pretty clever, huh! [^]
-
I doubt it is clever - you don't know how to configure the "banned words" function. Just because it is there doesn't mean it is used by you.

Not so. I'm in the process of re-designing and re-coding the entire site. The censor routine was there but it was very limited. I re-wrote it and added the code to save info to the database and issue the warnings/bans. It will be in my next update.

Yes

An no humility
Humility is something that happens to other people.

Ah, animals, considering themselves people.
