Hi Peoples,This is my first post, so here goes. According to the Standard Model just after the Big Bang matter and antimatter annihilated each other leaving a tiny bit of matter over that is the universe, conservation of energy says that energy cant be created or destroyed,so what happened to all that energy? Could it have been converted to Dark energy or Dark matter or both but in different phases like as in ice, water, steam for example?

OK so it looks like its a monolog on the conservation of energy.Ha! Seriously what happened to it? My theory is that it is the vacuum energy which is the same as the cosmological constant and dark energy. If that's not right whats wrong with my reasoning?

All of this is covered in the book Exploring Black Holes - Second Ed. by Taylor, Bertschinger and Wheeler which is online at http://exploringblackholes.com/
Basically that energy is still here. It didn't go anywhere. Energy is constant. But you have to take in into account mass-energy, gravitational potential energy and kinetic energy of everything in the universe.

It seems that whatever you can come up with has been thought before? Thanks for the links PMB,I appreciate that.

Me? Why do you say that? Or do you mean people in general?
Thousands upon thousands of physicists have been working every single day for hundreds of years, at least a hundred since relativity has been created. I'm surprised that anybody ever figures new things out. But I've thought of new things that nobody else doesn't seem to have. They're in my article "On the concept of mass in relativity" at http://arxiv.org/abs/0709.0687

Thanks for the links PMB,I appreciate that.
You're welcome.

People in general of course! I read your articles but I had a hard time following the equations(probably because I'm not a physicist or mathematician) but I understood the gist of it and where your coming from. I think these type of forums can be a boon to science in general because of the internet giving ordinary people with more than a passing interest to put it out there and have a say on what they think. After all, through out history its always been these so called oddball ideas/theory's that has caused the revolutions in science,medicine,biology,physics,geology,ect...ect...

You didn't answer my question. Why is that?
-
What do you mean I didn't answer your question,of course I did! What I said and what I meant is it doesn't matter what idea one comes up with its sure to to have been thought of before. Does that answer your question? Because otherwise I have no idea what you mean?
-
What do you mean I didn't answer your question,of course I did!
When you wrote It seems that whatever you can come up with has been thought before? it was unclear to me as to what you meant in that it was unclear whether you were saying that only I can't come up with new ideas or whether you meant everybody can't. Sometimes when a person uses the term "you" they don't mean it to be taken literally and in other cases they do. So I asked you to clarify that for me. But you didn't.
-
Of course I answered your question;People in general of course! Without a moderator fear loathing and paranoia are the hallmarks of this site.
-
Of course I answered your question;..
No you didn't. Not after I asked it or before you responded to my request. If you claim otherwise then please state which post number you answered my question in.
-
Well it looks like you've killed this thread. Thanks

Well it looks like you've killed this thread. Thanks
If you really believe that's true then next time be honest and don't try to act like you answered a question when you claimed you did. Dishonesty got you this.

Think about this, you have called yourself a physicist (disabled) because you have a bad back? I can only surmise that you are alluding to Steven Hawking. (delusions of grandeur)? I have degrees in music theory and I'm deaf in one ear but I wouldn't think of going on here or a music forum and describe myself as a composer(deaf) for fricks sake man,I have put up a question here and you've answered it with a couple of physics papers that to me mean (and most others here I presume) next to nothing and if anything it is a distraction, what if I was to answer a comparative musical question with a symphonic score? People would quite likely think I was insane? For your own sake and everyone you come in contact with, Go and see a doctor.

Please keep this discussion related to Dark mater, Energy, & the Big Bang.

I have no appetite for this anymore and I cant see anyone else wanting to venture an opinion in these circumstances.
