Title: If science will save the world, should money be the limiting factor in research?
Post by: chris on 10/06/2017 08:24:29
David says:

If the progression of science and technological development is based on the human made concept of money, should we, as a species, re-evaluate what guides science and technological development if, as the evidence is proving, ultimately this is proving to be counter-productive and potentially causing the demise of us as a species, as well as causing the 6th mass extinction of life on the planet, due to the falsehood of the man-made necessity for money?

Should science take the lead in finding alternatives to the destructive power of commercial necessity and greed?

What do you think?

All living things eventually poison or exhaust their environment, to the point that the species cannot survive. Homo sapiens is subject to the same laws of physics and chemistry as everything else. It is the Will of God.

I didn't realise you were such an optimist.

........ based on the human made concept of money,

Science didn't invent the concept of money, as you say it is a human concept and as such not governed by the laws and workings of the physical world.
If you want to find an alternative you need to look at human interactions and trade, and devise a better bookkeeping system.

6th? What are the other three?
