How do you calculate the number of moles of steam from a known amount of water?

How do you calculate the number of moles of steam from a known amount of water?

I am working in the steam reformation of methane. I am using a constant flow of water to generate steam. This is done by pumping 10 microlitres/min of water into a heated stainless tube, which gasifies this water into steam.

I would like to know how can i calculate the number of moles of steam generated?

The number of moles of steam is the same as the number of moles of water.

Does all of the water turn into steam?

If so, as @Bored chemist has pointed out, the number of moles of steam is identical to the number of moles of water, because although the phase has changed (liquid → gas) the mass of water is the same; and since moles = mass (g) / Relative Molecular Mass (RMM), and neither the mass nor the RMM changes, then the number of moles of water remains constant.

We aren't really here to do your homework, but I'll expand on Chris's definition.

Water is H2O, which has a mass of 18g/mole.
At room temperature, water has a density close to 1kg/liter.
10μl of water ≈ 10 mg of water

I am sure you can take it from there...

number of moles is not going to be changed when liquid is converted to gas, unless the molecule is dissociated into atoms. So just convert the weight of water into moles. That is all.
