But how/why?

Did they all work together on "red house" in 1988

Well, my link was Gary Moore, so you get the prize. It was because gary Moore played on the "Variations" album written by ALW. It was a series of variations (believe it or not) on a theme by Paganini.
Your turn....
-

Well done, Paul. Milo O'Shea played Dr Durand Durand in Barbarella (as Stuart almost got) and that is where Duran Duran took their name from.

takes a bow, and stands to take in the applause and admiration...but is useless at posing trivia questions and leaves the door open for someone else to post a question.

Axl Rose was the lead singer with Guns n Roses - but what is his real name?
-
William Bruce Rose, Jr
-
Oh dear, Karen. You made the same mistake nearly everyone makes.
-
It is William Bruce Bailey. He was born William Bruce Rose, Jr., but his mother (I think) had him take his step father's name.
-
Nope. He changed his name from William Bailey to William Rose when he discovered that Rose is his real father's name Rose, that's true. But he later changed it again. What is his real name now?
-
It was changed to William Bailey,is that the one you wanted?
-
Karen - William Bailey (Bill Bailey!) was his original name.
-
"W. Axl Rose"
-
OK, Karen - you're close enough. It was a bit of a trick question. He legally changed his name to Axl Rose in 1986! However, hardly anyone knows that and usually say Bill Bailey.
-
Karen - William Bailey (Bill Bailey!) was his original name.
Are you sure? Everything I've found said Rose was his original last name.
BTW - Is he legal name now W. Axl Rose?
-

Oh good, I thought I was seeing things. I just saw something on TV about him a few weeks ago where it talked about his name but I couldn't remember it...
-
D'OH! Silly me. I put it the wrong way round [:I] - yes, it was Rose then Bailey.
But that doesn't alter the fact that his name now is legally W Axl Rose.
-
What was the biggest hit for Sam the Sham & the Pharoahs?

What 2 Rolling Stones songs did John Lennon and Paul McCartney sing backing vocals?
-
1 of them was "We Love You" which was a tribute to the loyalty of their fans during a drugs trial. I'll have to think about what the other 1 was.
-
You're right about the first one.....you're half way there!
-
I know Brian Jones played sax on "You Know My Name" by The Beatles & Jagger played guitar on at least 1 Yoko Ono track.
Do I get a point? [:I]

Well, I have to admit that I cannot think of a 2nd [:(]
-
You could have a point for the first answer, but how 'bout a hint instead.

-
Larry Lurex.

After you then....
-
you've already said the punch line. lol... to make a very long joke short, these three strings want to go drinking and the first and second strings get kicked out of the bar because strings can't go drinking and the third one's trying to figure out a way in and he ties himself up and he's scratching his head and he goes in and sits down and the bartender says hey aren't you a string and he says i'm a frayed knot... it's stupid

Sorry to interrupt I have a quick question? Do you know the song, and I think the title is " ALL OF ME" It goes, "All of me, why don't you take all of me... Can't you see I'm no good without.. you..."
-
Yes, Karen, of course I know it.
Written by Seymour Simons & Gerald Marks in 1931 & originally sung by Belle Baker. It has been recorded by, among others, Frank Sinatra (he recorded it 4 times; his original recording being in 1952), Willie Nelson (1979)& Billie Holliday (may have been 1941, but I'm not sure).

Shall I spill the beans?
-
Ah, wait a minute. There was a guitar sold in the middle east a while back to help tsunami victims. It had been signed by a lot of rock stars. I think that fetched a couple of million dollars.
(Incidentally, didn't 1 of Clapton's guitars fetch about a million?)
-
Kerching!!!!!
The previous record holder was "Blackie" I think it was called, one of EC's guitars which fetched just under a million dollars. The record holder now (or at least in 2006) is a guitar signed by the likes of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Eric Clapton, Brian May, Jimmy Page, David Gilmour, Jeff Beck, Pete Townsend, Mark Knopfler, Ray Davis, Liam Gallagher (so what?), Ronnie Wood, Tony Iommi, Angus & Malcolm Young, Paul McCartney, Sting, Ritchie Blackmore, Def Leppard, and Bryan Adams. It has generated about 3.7 million USD!
-
Dat's a lorra lorra moolah! [:0]
-
Yousa what a sale!!! That is really cool!

This is the normal range of a soprano. The F6 is 3 white key above the yellow range.
-
It's in "The Magic Flute" by Mozart.
However... I'll say that louder... HOWEVER...
The note produced by Paul Gascoigne in that famous picture of Vinnie Jones squeezing him somewhere unmentionable, was considerably higher!
