Title: Can you eat ant-infested sugar (after the ants have gone)?

Hi Chris

My mother has problem with ants getting into her sugar bowl. By moving the bowl onto the top of a  cupboard the ants eventually leave after 12 hours but she wants to know if they have defecated in her sugar! In other words is it ok to use the sugar
