Isn't that a kind of shoe? I've had some pretty stinky footwear, but never anything to stop me going out! But I figure, this is a shoe with a bite!

Florida Cottonmouth, I assume. They're cute & cuddly. Was it a baby (1st pic) or an adult (2nd pic)?

Doc - I saw in an earlier post that you are a musician, a guitar player, I think. What music do you play?
Title: It seems to me...
Post by: DoctorBeaver on 20/06/2007 17:24:23
More than just a guitarist, matey-boy. I was classically trained on guitar & piano but I also play drums, Gaelic harp, violin, double bass & harmonica. I've even been known to whack a lump of 4x2 with an iron poker to get the percussion sound I wanted.

I've got synthesisers all over the place (11 altogether including a Mini Moog & a Korg M1 - WOOOO!) & they are what I mainly use these days.

As for what I play... hmmm... just about anything, really. I've recorded all styles from death metal to J S Bach, Van Gellis-esque to Rachmaninov(ish).

*bows away in that funny Japanese kind of way when they're in the presence of greatness*

OK - I'm just learning some classical tab - do you know some nice pieces that don't tie your fingers in knots?

You could try some pieces from the Anna Magdelena Notebook by J S Bach. I'll see if I can find any tabs for you.

Thanks. I've been playing "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" as it's recogniseable, and quite fluid. All new pieces would be highly welcome!

It was a baby, but there wasn't anything cute and cuddly about it.  Between the snakes, bears, bobcats, and alligators, I'm ready to move to a big concrete city!

I was at Harrow County Grammar School & Reggie baby was at Pinner County - a mere 3 miles away. My school had a huge hall with a full lighting rig. At the end of the school year we used to have the "School Ents" - an entertainment show where pupils could show off their talents.

There were 3 or 4 local schools who used to get together so we could put on a better show. That particular year I'm talking about, we had on stage at the same time, Elton John, Richie Blackmore, Ian Gillan  & Rick Wakeman. How much would that cost these days!

Er, 3 bottles of vodka, and a nice cup of tea for Reg.

So, there's an obvious question. They all went on to musical greatness and wealth (as well as appearing on Grumpy Old Men every now and again). Did you not choose this path?

I was at Harrow County Grammar School

I went to Dr Challoners Grammar in Amersham. Know it?

I've heard of Dr Challoners but I don't know anything about it.

I did pursue a career in music for a while. I was pro for a few years, doing mainly session work; although I did play in a few bands too. I was actually in a New Romantic band but ssssshhhh, don't tell!  [:-X]
