Hello,
I've sent my laptop to a friend in Mexico to fix for me and he recently responded that I need to replace a part. I think he mentioned that it was the power button that didn't work, but I'm not positive.
He sent me pictures of the part:

If anyone can help me identify these I'd really appreciate it. Also, if you know where I could buy the part for relatively cheap price I'd also be appreciative.
I don't remember what kind of laptop specifically it was, except I remember it was a HP G62

You better not find the ideal source for these parts and suddenly post a link to them.

Just go to E-Bay and type in HP G62 Power Button (http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=hp+g62+power+button&_sacat=0&_odkw=hp+g62+power&_osacat=0&_from=R40), and you will find a bunch of them for $20 to $30.
If it is the actual button, and it feels ok, but doesn't make contact, you may be able to take it apart. See if there is a frame that will snap off (carefully). Inside you should find a little diaphragm disk and a couple of contacts. See if you can clean it and put it back together.
It appears similar to the laptop mouse buttons that I have successfully cleaned in the past. Cleaning it might fix the button, but obviously not circuit board problems.
