If April Showers Bring May Flowers.... What do May Showers Bring?
-
Happy gardeners if the reaction in a rainy London this afternoon was anything to go by.
-
I suppose.
I've been trying to set up drip irrigation for everything, but nothing beats a good soaking, and it savings me pumping it from the well.
However, a little sunshine would be helpful too. I'm still waiting for spring to come.
Wednesday average
49°F, 7°F below normal.
In the last month or two, perhaps we've had 1 or 2 days above normal.
We have rain in the forecast for:
Thursday, Friday, Saturday, (Maybe Sunday), Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

It's still @#$%^& snowing on the mountains around here. You can still go skiing if you want to.
Bass is not going to like this.

I went up (snow) skiing a couple of weekends ago.
The first time I went out I got pretty badly sunburnt.
The next trip, I had suntan lotion. It was about 60°F or so out. Quite nice, I must say for skiing. There were a couple of women skiing in bikinis.
Apparently the ski resorts have troubles getting good spring-time crowds, but you can't beat sunny spring skiing weather.
There is one resort in Oregon where you can ski in July or August if you wish!!!!!!!!!

Thats cool.. Its been raining here evening and early mornings and clearing with sunshine throughout the day! Kind of nice really! One exception is that it clogs up my lawnmower bag cause the grass is too wet!...lol

June Bugs?
See if anyone can go right through the year with this theme :-)
-
Jun-ipers...LOL...LOL..

Jun-ipers...LOL...LOL..
I'm not sure about that one... at least around here the Junipers don't seem to need too many showers, although they certainly need more moisture than what southern Arizona provides.

I knew a night watchman who had a brazier (no - I said brazier) of hot coals to keep him warm. When he went to work, he schlepped embers with him so he could get his brazier going.

There's a local brewery near here that started making zero alcohol content ale. Apparently sales have been very unimpressive which may not be very surprising as they decided to call it No Fun Beer.

I do have a foot warmer around here somewhere that you fill with hot coals and then put your feet on it to keep them warm. I haven't tried it myself as it is probably toxic.
Did we get away from April & May showers?

Not here, we haven't, it's still peein' down.

I've been told that one of the milestones for gardening (in the Northwest USA) is to get the Corn:
Knee High by the 4th of July
With a little luck, I may just make that goal this year.
-
The answer is in the question..... May showers bring life to April flowers [;D] In June and July the flowers look to the sky, after that they multiply, soon after they simply die!

That is a cool post!
