Glaser paper is below.

I looked at your reference. The author states: 'it is predominantly free convection forces which change the apparent mass.'
The author forgot to include the 'control' experiment in his paper, weighing the metals in vacuum, to conclude air convection is responsible for changes in weight.
You seem to have forgotten that you already lost this argument
The evidence is collected every day.

They both convey identical measure
It is an illustration of different attitudes. I for instance look at things from an engineering standpoint, and would have said that the cup is twice as large as it needs to be.

Just Chat! / Is it half full or half empty?

I often hear the argument of half full versus half empty approaches to various situations and I just don't get it. They both convey identical measure, in that 50% is depleted and 50% remains. My wife thinks I may be borderline autistic and I am certainly much more accomplished at technical matters than social interactions. What do ye think?

20 grams metals heated by 5 degrees C in air lost 100 micrograms (Glaser,1990). Let's start there.

In order to best measure the effect, you'd want to maximize the difference in temperature between your measurements. That being said, what kind of relationship are you expecting? Does doubling the temperature double the weight loss?
I expect a linear relationship between heat absorbed and weight loss. Doubling the calories absorbed should double the weight loss.
And what is the mechanism for that? Also your reference to Glaser - could you complete so we can find and assess the validity?
The mechanism for W reduction at increasing T in vacuum is described in my theory on my website here yaniv-stern.webnode.page.

Summarise it here - don't link to a website. If you have a credible theory you should be able to do this. Myself and others do not want to wade through a website.

11:23 Is there a better way?

IMO, the purpose of science is to map causality in physical reality, which would be useful in predicting the consequences of our actions, so we can make the best decisions, based on what we already know. If current economics theories can't do that, then they are not really more useful than pseudoscience, like astrology or homeopathy. The fact that they can make money for their practitioners doesn't mean that they are useful for the society as a whole.

New Theories / Re: What is the Biological Combination Theory?

Every time people excavate under London, they find things they mistakenly call "plague pits" or "mass graves". This is obvious nonsense: they are the remains of a race who lived entirely under the surface.

If conventional archaeology is to be believed, their civilisation was remarkably backward, with evidence of the use of horse transport, for instance: digging further down into the past you can find prehistoric trains, some of which still operate today. Well, maybe tomorrow.

Indeed, Spoon, this represents an historic low point on my nonsense versus time graph. Science denial is a troubling cancer that seems to be spreading.
Indeed. We really need an idiotic conspiracy theory section I think.
