Title: Organic chem synthesis and lab instructions?

I need to synthesis 10g of pure 3-methoxypentane, max 3 Carbons in reagents

So far I have:

CH₃CH₂BR ->Mg Et₂O -> CH₃CH₂MgBr

+ CH₃CH₂COH = CH₃CH₂C(O)CH₂CH₃

+ I-CH₃ = CH₃CH₂C(OCH₃)CH₂CH₃

Weights:
Ethyl Mg Br 0.2mol = 26.7g in diethyl ether = 26.1mL?

propionaldehyde 0.2mol = 11.6g

Methyl iodide 0.2mol = 28.4g


Does that look right so far?
How do I match chemical properties with designing a lab protocol?
How do I work out what the percentage yield from each step will be so I know what weights to use at the start?
