It's so irritating to know there are hundreds of Smiths or Jones around. Why not have a number instead? You can't go wrong if you are known as number 65,999,999

The notion of being numbered is repulsive to most individuals and I happen to be one of the majority.

It'll be interesting to see how good it is. It made a huge impression on me (aged 10) when it was first broadcast, and still remains a great influence.

You won't forget that number in a hurry if it's someone elses bank account, you've also got the password, and you are about to defraud them of some money online

Q.Why do people have names?
Same reason as dolphins ...
Dolphins ‘know each other’s names’
Dolphins may be closer to humans than previously realised, with new research showing they communicate by whistling out their own “names”.
The evidence suggests dolphins share the human ability to recognise themselves and other members of the same species as individuals with separate identities.

Names were invented by the makers of telephone directories to make them more interesting.
