Title: Can CO2 satellite data be used to determine anthropogenic emissions?

The link is to access the data from the major emissions measuring projects around the world. Can their data determine anthropogenic emissions or simply the total amount of a certain chemical in the atmosphere?


Also, how in hell do you access their (either GOSAT or OCO-2) data? Is it all wrapped up in .nc files with no pdf or anything having tables? And how do you access a .nc file?

It is probable  a number that can be calculated but it can never be know. There is no baseline for what the CO2 level was before the industrial revolution.

Surely we have air samples locked in ice and we can use these to find the levels of the last 100,000 years or so.
