It wouldn't take much of anything to cause that damage on impact! Alright mathematical Geniuses in this Science forum can someone tell us about what a bird or any flying object might do at that speed hitting a jet or being hit by the jet?

I don't think they said at what altitude this occurred at but few birds go as high as cruising altitude - that said, people on Everest have reported geese overhead [:0].

What's the betting it was some plonker in a microlite? [::)]

I tell you what those birds will do for our country is amazing, just a shame there brains are so small they screwed up the mission to "seek out the brainless one and destroy," Instead they sent the brainless ones to do the destroying, goofy Seaguls they should have sent in the eagle or the hawk!...
