Title: What could cause floating blue balls of light?
Post by: Tronix on 06/07/2005 01:55:37
i had a paranormal experience recently, and since someone else came foward with a sashquach encounter, i may as well make mine known.

My story was at Big Bend Ranch State Park in West Texas Saturady, July 2, 2005 (this year obviouly). Me, my family, and my girlfriend were staying there, and was a storm about 4:00-6:00 o clock, which had a whole lot of lightning. The storm knocked out the power and the air condidtioner, which made us miserable, so me and my girlfriend stepped out to look at the stars and cool off.

About midnight, one of the three cow dogs there started barking, and then a minute later, a small light blue orb of light, about the size of a hardball, floated 1-2 feet of the ground, traveling fast but not too fast like someone running. Lightning was striking on the horizon (about due west, where as the power line where from south-west), but there were no power lines on the ground, and it did not follow a steady path, rather it bobbed up and down.

The ball appeared one more time about ten minutes after the first time, annouced by the dog again. it never appeared agian. both times it zip about ten feet, then would dash behind the wall to where we coudlnt see it. later, we though we heard a strange moan, which may have been the wind but my gf doesnt think so.

Now what intigues me is that Marfa, the west texas town famous for little floating balls of light (google "marfa lights" and you shall see), was 50 miles away, and is where the ranch got power from. This may mean it was ball lightning, but it was completly soundless, we didnt smell electricty in the air, and it did not follow an electircal line, becuase each pass was a little different. but i have no clue what ball lightning looks like, smells like, sounds like, or how it acts, so if someone knows then let it be known. still, it didnt look like anything electrical.

anybody got thoughts on this?

Sounds bizarre and unlike anything I've ever heard.

So this is probably all that Banaspati ghosts in Indonesia all about. I tried Googling it and found some possibilities:
