DO YOU REMEMBER BABY jESSICA, THE 1RST TEST TUBE BABY?
« on: 27/07/2007 15:37:20 »
Well I am curious, Was the egg only fertilized in the tube, then transplanted into a healthy mom? OR......was she incubated, in a prefab womb so to speak, outside of her mother's womb? I have really never thought about it but would be interested in hearing and seeing some of the procedures that were involved here in bringing this beautiful little girl into the world!

Sorry, can't help. I don't remember it. I try to take as little notice of babies as possible.

I appreciate that I am replying to this about 12 years too late, but I just spotted the post among the "similar topics" below a thread and was curious.

Actually, the first "test tube baby" was Louise Brown, born with the help of IVF pioneers Bob Edwards and Patrick Steptoe, who subsequently set up the Bourn Hall Clinic in Cambridgeshire.

We met and spoke with Louise Brown on her 40th birthday, in 2018:

I still think the whole process is amazing! Furthermore, it is amazing how old that makes me feel, to know the 1rst test tube baby was already 40 years old 41 now eh? lol...
