Well it has been quite cold the last few days here in the evenings. I have noticed this before but never hought to ask you good people why.
I can be frozen stiff and on my back and covered with 5 blankets, quilts etc. but frezzing..now if I turn to my left side and on my tummy I warm right up...but if I flip to my back I get cold again! Why is that?
-
I don't know.. But sitting down, but my tummy and my back is warm.
For your sitting down, if you tummy is warm, but your back is coldd..
Then when you sleep, facing tummy down would be better, because the heat travels upwards and warms your whole body up aswell..
But if you sleep facing up, your tummy heat is going upwards, to nothing.. So you'll get colder..
Not sure why your back is cold in the first place though!!

Karen, have you got a hairy back? If you did that would explain things.
On heat pictures of the body the stomach is always warm especially after meal times when there is work being done in the stomach area. If you go to bed after a meal this would also explain things.

It wouldn't explain a cold back though!
