Title: Hello from my lab!
Post by: dinochick on 24/08/2006 20:16:46
Hello all! My name is ReBecca and I have been listening to the podcast for a while now. It is a great thing to have for me, because I am "trapped" all day in my lab with ear muffs, eye protection, and a dust mask on, so it gives me something to concentrate on while I work. What do I do? Well, I am a vertebrate paleontologist and fossil preparators (same thing in my eyes). I am currently working on a 700lb block from Antarctica that contains the remains of the theropod dinosaur, Cryolophosaurus. So, as I grind away to free him from his rocky grave, I also listen to Chris and group. It's a great way to pass the time and learn all sorts of new info.
Glad to have found this forum, I hope to learn even more!
Cheers!

Wow ! What you are doing sounds really fascinating. is it ? Would it be possible to post a photo of what you are working on or would that not be allowed ?

I will see what I can do. I don't really have any pictures of myself working in the lab, since I work by myself. I'll check with my boss though and get his approval. It really is a great job! I feel pretty lucky to be doing what I love :)

If you could get some piccys though it would be well cool !

Enjoy your time here and hope you'll be here to stay.

What! No smiley with that - she is kidding really.

Sure Michael and Neil may well be all she describes - I cannot speak for them - I am merely a jovial, roly poly, sort of guy.

But I welcome you mpmetheless - in my jovial roly poly sort of way.

George

There has not been anyone around who can take a picture of me working, but I have put together a page about my lab and there are two pictures on there of the lab itself. Enjoy [:)]http://www.dinochick.com/Paleo/RKH_augielab.html

Desks look just as messy as mine.

BTW - don't worry about putting up any personal pics or anything - no-one expects an invasion of your privacy.

Its cool. There has just not been anyone around the building this week. Maybe when I get back from Japan I can post some pictures of myself at work in the lab.
