Oh My Giddy Aunt,
Will ewe take a look at my latest new toy ?..being delivered next Tuesday !

It's the RB293 Excavator and it stands nearly 100 meters high !.., that's about the same as a 26 storey building......and it weighs an astonishing 14,196 tonnes.
It is in fact a moving land vehicle and thus holds the record for the largest moving land vehicle ever !
Gosh, I hope I am in when it gets delivered next Tuesday...if not..I'll leave a note that my neighbour will gladly accept it on my behalf.
Why not post your pictures of BIG stuff here ? !....perhaps lets fine-tune the posts to the largest of a particular type !

Svetlana Pankratova currently holds the Guinness World Record for the woman with the longest legs.
She recently met China’s He Pingping. According to the Guinness Book of Records, He Pingping is the world’s shortest man.

Pankratova’s legs measure 132 cm or 4.33 feet. She is 6′7″ and is not the tallest woman. That distinction was until recently held by Sandy Allen who was 7′7″. She died at age 53 last month. He Pingping, 20, is 2′5″.

I dread to think what the motor insurance on that RB293 Excavator is.
-
Neil, You may have been conned by a slick salesman here. Careful examination of the photos of the two excavators reveals they are not the same. The bottom one, is a truly gargantuan beast which every sheep would want in his field, but the top one (a photo of a real excavotor), although large, is much smaller. It would not surprise me if there are quite a few Australian sheep who have one of these.

Should this thread not go in "That Can't be True"?

No, because it can be true [;D]

Thanks Graham,
The one above is the Mini MPV version.
The one below is the Estate Grand Tourer ! [;)]

Let's just say that if I had chose which I had to stand beneath, I'd prefer the gams. Very impressive, and hardly a monster either.
-
The last time I saw legs that length they were on a Derby winner (http://www.epsom-derby.net/derby-winners.php).
(Shouldn't "He Pingping" change his name to "Mee Nee Hy" ? [:)] )

I hope the little chap had the good grace not to take advantage of his size and start peering about. [:0]

I just got my copy of Guiness world of records....If I show it to girlies will they let me look up their frocks too ?
Actually, it's well good this year as they have some pretty cool 3d piccys happening inside and they even give ewe 3D glasses....which is nice !!
-
Why is the woman in the pic wearing high heels, doesn't she think she's tall enough?
-
It helps make the calves look more shapely defined and femanine...and sexy!!
-
But he's not looking at her calves.
-
He's peeking, but he's not from Peking, (he's from Mongolia).
-
But he's not looking at her calves.
Why would she have baby cows up her skirt anyway?
-
Are you talking bullocks?

Are you talking bullocks?
As always
-
My Dad is a farmer. He loves fat calves.
I hope she doesn't do a peepee on pingping.
-
I'm not going to mention Pong Gi Minj. I'M NOT!!

For some reason, this all reminds me of a Chinese take-away which I used to pass with extreme caution after nearly running up the back end of a bus after my first encounter. It was called, and I swear this is the absolute truth, "Lok How Fok"
If I were that little chap, I wouldn't be looking up there without an umbrella close to hand.
-
Don - A Chinese takeaway opened near me a few years ago and within a few days they were made to change the name. The original name? Ho Ho Fuk.
-
I remember there once being a Chinese restaurant at the back of the National Gallery called Man Fu King. [;D]

I envy him his location, if not his stature.

More big stuff : a load of garbage...
The Great Pacific Garbage Patch, also described as the Eastern Garbage Patch or the Pacific Trash Vortex is an area of marine debris in the central North Pacific Ocean located roughly in an area between 135° to 155°W and 35° to 42°N. The patch is characterised by exceptionally high concentrations of suspended plastic and other debris that have been trapped by the currents of the North Pacific Gyre....The size of the affected region is unknown, but estimates range from 700,000 km2 to more than 15 million km2.

I know a chap who went on a NOAA cruise to this region earlier this year as part of a project testing the use of small UAVs for this sort of survey work. One of the best anecdotes from the cruise was when, during some particularly bad weather, he rigged up the UAV's accelerometers to show the boat's motion, which nicely correlated with how badly sea-sick everyone was feeling.

Do you want fries with that ? ...
A Devon fish and chip shop owner has broken the world record for cooking the biggest bag of chips.
Kelvin Baines from the Chip Stop in Plymouth undertook a 12-hour marathon and fried up almost 1,300lb (590kg) of Maris Piper potatoes.
