weed doesnt help POIS anymore than getting drunk does.
Taking NSAIDs (as was discussed before I believe) like Advil mildely reduces symptoms, I've found. I'll soon be putting webenzymeN in the next version of the compendium.
Thanks Demo! Did you test again for creatinine? Mine was also slightly elevated but I did nothing for that yet.
I like tuna too but too much is a problem (only every 9 days is ok for white tuna and for my weight):http://www.nrdc.org/health/effects/mercury/tuna.asp
Let's presume that inflammation hypothetically occurs in POIS and produces elevated intercranial pressure in some capacity. If so anti-inflammatory substances would have a positive effect, and that has been determined to be true in our experience. But wouldn't diuretics also be beneficial? I have read that if B vitamins are low or if amio acids are low the body, or if too much sugar or salt are consumed, water can be retained. The listed diuretic foods that I regularly consume are: green tea, oats, tomato, cranberry. On another page I also read that garlic has diuretic properties. Hmmm, I might have to try some herbal diuretic supplement. A resulting change in my tinnitus or double vision could be valuable feedback. Has anyone tried taking a herbal diuretic for POIS?
Pardon the potential controversy due to (il)legal nature, but everything must be considered:Has anyone tried getting high? Cannabis and low-dose psychedelics have all sorts of health benefits. Most are potent anti-inflammatories, stress-reducers, relaxers, and I find many clear the mind of useless clutter.

My nephrologist (kidney specialist) tells me that I have a "disease" related to creatinine but that I should......not worry about it!Nice info Demo. I'll check this more carefully but it seems good there's nothing serious.Quote from: Vandemolen3 on 04/12/2010 17:49:57Lucky me: I like salmon and tuna fish a lot. Quote from: martin88 on 03/12/2010 14:09:51On my testing list... I'll try omega3 + choline (egg yolk, lecithin) + uridine. This can maybe help with depression, forgetfullness, cognitive disorder. http://www.psychologytoday.com/articles/200503/better-prozac [nofollow]Choline isn't mentioned in the article. But I read that it's good for the nerves.Uridine is hard to get.I will try the omega3 too because I am stopping slowly with Paxil.

Intestering about fresh food, Dave.I always ate fresh food. But the last years I had another job. I have to work often untill late in the evening. So the last years I eat more microwave food (you know that ready to go meals from the super market). The change of my food could be one of the reasons of my POIS. It's a wild guess, but you never know. Another thing is that in these years I gained 20 kilo's in weight. I always was too light in weight. But the last years this changed.
Why do u want to stop Paxil ? Did u felt better on it ?

Or sooner.edit - After your question, CCconfucius, I just sent Dr Waldinger an email asking him to confirm this post.

Also, be real careful with canned tuna, it tends to be pacakged with some real bad MSG type enhancers. And the label doesn't outright say MSG. Look up the preservatives and enhancers on the internet.Their effects can more than nullify the benefit.Personally, although I have (had) gone bad with the medicines, I try to at least only eat fresh foods. As little as possible from a can. Even tomatoe sauce has dubious preservatives. I had to go through about 6 brands to find one reasonably "clean"
