Title: Why does a glass of milkshake "hop" if you blow through a straw?

Good day Chris,

Something which has had my mind puzzled ever since I started drinking milkshake is..... why does the glass hop on the table if you give a short pulse blow through the straw. The straw should be vertical and quite deep into the shake. I've only tried this with long glasses.
