Title: Is there a simple rule for to and too?

Help I am a little bit dyslexic and I really get confused with to and too, is there any one out there who knows of a simple rule so I can try and use the correct version of this silly word...  [;D]

No. It would be easier to dump English altoogether.

"Too" is usually (sort of) adjectival - "too big", "too many", "too late" etc., but it can also mean also, as in "me too".

Those are the only ones I can come up with at the moment, so, if it's not one of them two too, just shove in a "to" to.

too much, too little, too late, too many o's! like the song.."too much, too little, too late, to ever start again...too much, too little, too late, to ever start as friends, too much too little too late and we know it must end and its over...."

Going to, see to it, to be or not to be.. you are either going to or going to be .. traveling to and from... and the number two you seem to have a grasp on and are not using too many o's to spell it!

think like double o too usually means more then... single o is going to and fro.. getting somewhere.. two number in a couple!

Hi,
New here and this is my first post. Thought I would start with something simple and go on to the deeper end of the pool a bit later, like post #2. :)

Anyway, There are only two real exceptions where you would use too rather than to: too is used to describe "in excess", and too is used to describe "also".

Examples:

We ate too much. (meaning "excessively")

I like baseball, too. (meaning "also")

If it isn't one of those two types, "to" is the proper word to use in most all other cases.

Personally, spelling has always been a kind of unconscious process for me. I get confused if I have to consciously think about it. I think Gordian Knot said it, though!
