It’s more than 7-feet tall. Weighs over 500 pounds and walked upright -- three "Bigfoot" seekers, including a Redwood City man, Wednesday claimed they have proof that they have found the body of the elusive creature in the wilds of Georgia.
And on Friday, at a news conference in Palo Alto, they say they will present DNA evidence to prove the carcass of “Rickmat” is that of a bigfoot.
Matthew Whitton and Rick Dyer, Georgia residents who lead Bigfoot-tracking expeditions, say they found the body of what appears to be a Bigfoot in the woods of northern Georgia and will join local Bigfoot researcher Tom Biscardi at the news conference, according to Robert Barrows, who is publicizing the event.
Among the creatures's other physical characteristics of the body -- according to the hunters website -- http://www.searchingforbigfoot.com/ -- were flat feet similar to human feet. Its footprint is 16 ¾ inches long and the length from palm to tip of the middle finger is 11 ½ inches long.

How is DNA going to prove anything? It's not like we have a great deal of bigfoot DNA to compare it to.

Ben - although, obviously, it wouldn't identify the creature as a bigfoot (as you say, we don't know what bigfoot DNA looks like), it can surely eliminate other possibilities such as an escaped gorilla.

True.  It'll be interesting to find out though.  It does look like a gorilla suit and some ketchup. I suspect, if it were a genuine find, they would have handed it over to a university by now.

Our local news is ignoring it.  Which does not bode well given that I've seen stories about the many flavors of Kool-Aid broadcast  on the local news.

The unraveling begins:

The two men who claim to have found Bigfoot have admitted to filming a hoax video with a fake scientist, but they still claim they have a real Bigfoot corpse in the freezer and will reveal all at a press conference...."We still have a corpse," he adds later.

Thats crazy stuff! But around here where I live Big Foot is a real legend... I am just a few miles from Willow Creek.. he has been a legend all my life showing up supposedly two years before I did in this world.. at least the sightings! Well who knows?

CNN just had the "press conference" such as it was.
The whole thing is an obvious sham, could have been done with much better flair too.

This is the "additional photographic evidence" they produced. I couldn't get them so I took a picture of someone else's pictures. Note that the pictures they printed were web-resolution pictures that were blown up, so they were slightly pixelated and no better than what you see on the web. The first picture shows a close-up of Bigfoot's mouth, the teeth are in the middle and the tongue is sticking out to the left. The bottom picture shows a live Bigfoot walking in the woods.
