bradley Vandermerwe asked the Naked Scientists:
I am doing a science experiment on making batteries out of household appliances. From using 225ml of vinegar and 75ml of lemon juice as my electrolyte and connecting these batteries in series I managed to obtain a voltage of 2,72 volts. This was enough to power a small clock.
However when i connected these batteries to a 3 watt 1,5 volt light bulb the bulb did not light up.
Now I would like to know why this is?
Your help would be much appreciated.
Regards Brad
