Hmm.. I remember this when I was younger. I also thought that you form water from the back of your eyes, but I found that it wasn't the case.

I was watching a film, called "The Sixth Day" starring Arnold Schwartzchnasldfknfkdfnigger and on it, it said that if you have been cloned, if you pull just on the skin under the eye, there is a little DOT inside. I was terrified of that film, with all these weird alien-like cloning things.

Anyway, after I watched the film, I went to the mirror and pulled the skin down a bit, and realised there was this little DOT near the corner of my eye! I was terrified incase that film was true, and that I was cloned!!!

So, I asked my parents and they said that they were "Ducts" which make your tears come. The water seeps through that hole, and comes out our eyes.

[:D] But I was terrified before than information came. [:P]

*Smiles* Hi Anastasia I hope you are having fun. You asked a good question and yes those are tear ducts but I like you and maybe others have tons of why questions about tears. Well we know how the tears get out through those ducts , so where does the water come from that fills the tear ducts and why does it accumulate their in your tear ducts? did you kind of want to know that with your question. I felt you were asking a broader question with your question. If I am wrong dis regard my comment otherwise maybe someone smarter then me can help you with an answer and I can learn with you.. cause I want to know too!

Hi Anastasia,
You are right, there are pockets that make the tears- they are called lacrimal glands.  These are mainly where the tears are made there are two one is on the inside of the eye, by the nose. . this is why sometime when you cry you also get a runny nose.  The other one is on the top of your eye, up by the outer corner.  These glands are in yellow in the picture below.

They are always making tears- if not your eyes would be dry and very uncomfortable.  Sometimes the glands don't work and people have to add external tears to keep their eyes moist.  When you get something in your eye, or you have to sneeze, or you get strong feelings (happy or sad) they will start working overtime and then you cry.
