You can host a high-resolution (bigger) image on Flickr or Photobucket (or similar image-hosting site) and post a link to that image in this, or other, forum(s), e.g. http://www.flickr.com/photos/humanenigma/sets/72157625319543654/

When I'm editing photos for sending in E-Mail or posting on the WWW, I generally target about "VGA", or a resolution of about 640x480.

With photos, I use JPGs, and set the quality to between 70% and 80%.
For screen shots and graphs, I will use GIFs.

Anyway, you can generally get a decent quality image that is about twice as large as what you've posted without much work, and still be under the 128kb limit.

Your image is also a little washed out.  It is hard to know exactly what you're looking at, but you might try playing around a bit with the brightness and contrast, or try taking the photo on a different background, or with different lighting.  Obviously I can make things look bigger, but I can't add resolution that isn't there.  Did I get it too dark?  Hmmmm, down to 28kb [:-\]  Now, if I could only make it 100 kb BIGGER.

The meteorites and meteorwrongs article above is good.
