Hello,
There are times when I have a lot of admin to do and this involves the use of my lovely bum cheeks on a chair...Can you tell me why my bum hurts sometimes when I stand up after a reasonable period of sitting inactivity ? (hmmm..could that be a contaradiction ? perhaps I mean sitting activity !!)...anyway...is it a build up of lactic acid or somenting ?....is it related to cramp ?

I was once told (back in my school days) that is it due to the lack of blood flowing through your bum. I have not got a clue if this is correct, maybe some one else can confirm this or tell me its utter rubbish!

its definatley something to do with pressure. blood sounds likely, when you stand up again it does kinda feel like something is flowing back there!

Did you ever do the finger thing at school as part of a science lession? basically bite the tips of your two little fingers as hard as you can for 5 minutes then flick your little fingers together. I believe its the same sort of thing. When you bite your fingers you restrict blood flow, when you sit for a long time you "squash" blood vessels in your bum.

OUCH !!!....thanks Alex....took the tips of my fingers right off !!!...what I think I'd like to try is for me and wifey to but each others bums for 5 minutes then play bum-per cars and see how that feels *cheeky smirk*[:D]
