Im going to go with Choice 5:  How would you feel If you were genetically Identical to sombody, and yet you may have an entirely different mindset and might even dislike and be ashamed of the person you were cloned from?

(Kind of a long answer)

But don't forget that cloning is going on in all of us continuously. In the time it's taken you to read and respond to this poll and then contribute a message to this thread you will have cloned several metres of new DNA. Your cells are continuously dividing to replace dead or senescent cells throughout the body. Unless these were clones of their predecessors then we'd all starting looking pretty strange pretty quickly.

I wrote an article about this a little while ago :

Identical twins are already like that.

I would love a clone to do all the things which I don't find the time to do!    I hope she would like housework and gardening - there is loads to do here!  Perhaps she would be good at DIY as well!

better be careful about that, you dont want your clone to rebel.  After all, they have a mind and body of their own, and might rebel and make you do all of the work for the clone, thereby reversing the positions.

oh yea that brings up another interesting quiestion...do clones have a mind as if they were just born?...do they come out fully grown to the same size as its cloner? or does it have the same memories as the person it was cloned from...it all seems so much fun lol

Of course they don't have the memories of the individual they were cloned from.
A clone is just an individual with the same DNA in their cells as another individual. External factors will have diffrent effects from the moment the cell starts dividing (probably earlier) which will affect anything that isn't wholely genetically determined... so hair colour is (maybe..) a given, but size and certainly personality will be significantly different. People remember things that have happened to them. Unless you go in for the "in a former life I was Queen Cleopatra" stuff then clones will be influenced by things that have happened to their clones only in as far as they're told about them (in the same way I might be influenced by knowing that my mother, or whoever, had certain experiences (although the effect may be stronger if they're encouraged to believe in a "link" with their older clone).

I'm against human cloning at least for the time being because I think we have enough ways of messing with kids heads available to us without setting them off on their lives wondering how much they're doomed by their genes to make someone else's mistakes (or expecting to benefit from someone else's successes). It's bad enough with parents!
