Hi,
I just had a blood test done and the doctor called and said they want to retest me because my sodium level was low.
What are the side effects of low sodium? I always thought I had to worry about too much salt???
I think I eat a normal amount of salt, in fact I think I'm retaining water from too much.
Any ideas?

actually you're right, water retention can be a cause of low sodium.
Other causes include losing too much sodium in urine resulting in a low level in the bloodstream.
You should definitely repeat the blood test because it may be wrong and you might be worrying unnecessarily.
