Jaodun has written to ask:
Are the genetic adaptations to high altitude similar in Ethiopian and Sherpa people?
Just happened I listened on the same day to a podcast (https://www.thenakedscientists.com/podcast) covering the recent study of Sherpas and yours from a couple of years ago with genetics of a 6000 year old Ethiopian.
What does everyone think?

At the turn of the 21st century, it was reported that the genetic make-up of the respiratory components of the Tibetan and the Ethiopian populations are significantly different
