Fact: if it involves significant numbers of positrons, the annihilation radiation will be apparent to the observers. It's a bit like the cold fusion story. If it did as much fusion as they said it did then they would have been killed by the neutrons.
I'm sorry Bored Chemist but this thread started out being called "what is the source of gravity" before Colin moved the posts above, and the topic matter is quite varied even within the posts that are moved here.Fact is - I don't understand what part of the thread your post is referring to...Is it lightning?

If it did as much fusion as they said it did then they would have been killed by the neutrons."Cold fusion" was experimentally demonstrated in the 50's. In fact, the very term "cold fusion" was coined to describe these experiments from the 50's, experiments which are universally accepted as good science, and are not controversial in any way. Additional, it should be noted that this "cold fusion" does not produce neutrons, it produces helions / alpha particles and gamma rays.Look up muon catalyzed fusion.
Any comment on the link there people's?Positron clouds found at top of violent thunder cloud?https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/phys.org/news/2015-05-physicist-mysterious-anti-electron-clouds-thunderstorm.amp
positively charged electrons are found at top of thunder cloud, and negatively charged electrons are found at bottom of thunder cloud.
See timey. You start learning physics and suddenly you are making discoveries. Keep it up.
All I am doing here is trying to lead you lot by the nose to the physics of a notion I had about physics after learning physics 9 years ago.It is true that nobody ever stops learning though...
Timey: Now then: Why are the rising particles becoming high energy in a thunderstorm, sand storm, forest fire, or volcano?
Quote Timey: Now then: Why are the rising particles becoming high energy in a thunderstorm, sand storm, forest fire, or volcano? One of the factors affecting the capacity of an electrical conductor is the presence and capacity of other nearby electrical conductors. Now the earth is a massive electrical conductor so it follows that it must significantly affect the electrical capacity of all conductors on it. What happens to these conductors when they are isolated in space, surely their electrical capacitance must be significantly altered? What about space transmissions ?
