Can the destruction of SEI on Si-electrod can be avoided?

Can the destruction of SEI on Si-electrod can be avoided?

The silicon electrode with the addition of carbon stops working after 50 recharge cycles, despite the addition of FE in the electrolyte. Does anybody know how to prevent the destruction of SEI on a silicon electrode? Thanks in advise!

Can you give more background on the question?
- Is this some sort of battery chemistry?
- What is in the electrolyte and the other electrode?

I think this is a question about lithium ion batteries.

I also think it is a currently-unsolved problem. Here are some research articles on the subject from the last couple years to get people started.
