Complementary Medicine / Hyperventilation

I am a person, when scared or severely up set can tend to hyperventilate. What actually causes this and is there a way to head it off before it gets you? I always resort to the paper sack and trying to relax, but it is not so easy when your body is not cooperating with you and is on automatic pilot! Can anyone explain this for me?

I have a little "boy" friend that wants me to post a few science questions for the forum. He asked me to answer them, but what a joke!
Moi answer science questions! I thought you might enjoy these. Please any responses should come in 4 year old terms and not mentioning God as we cannot uses religious reference to a child at school!

1. Teacher why did god make all of the earths, and only make ours with plants and oxygen to breath in our lungs? Why did he make all the others with no oxygen or gravity? ( Get this, He is a 4 year old!)

2. Teacher how does the plants get that chlorophyll in them so we can breath oxygen?

3.How are we going to breath Gods oxygen if that place keeps cutting down Gods trees? ( points at truck company next door who hauls all the trees out in their trucks to go to the mill!)Yikes! Kid is really bright!

4.Do brown trees or Grass make oxygen for us to breath?

5.Teacher, Why do we have Gravity on this earth?

6.Teacher Karen,are we going to go live on the other planets, like Saturn?

Well as you can see this little fellow has some very good questions for his age and he reminds me abit of a cheeky little fellow we all know and love! Maybe someone can shoot me back a couple really simple answers , he will be thrilled you answered! He loves space and the like, I have already printed him a couple of photos from the other forums.

After much scratching I have come to the conclusion that I need help! Does anyone know what kinds of vitamins you should increase in order to change your attractiveness to a mosquito! My friends daughter was allergic, and doctor recomended increasing her Vitamin B or B6 I think, and another. I thought it was K, but can't remember as it was several years ago. I look like a spotted owl right now from all the bug bites.  Help I itch so bad!

I have a dum Question. Something I noticed while trying to loose this excess weight.[]
  Do our taste buds play a role in how much food we eat or is that just all in my head?
  Example: When I am really sick my head gets stuffed and I cannot taste my food. It seems I can just eat and eat like a bottomless pit, there seems to be no satisfaction happening. Now say I am well, I eat at someones house where they use very little seasoning, seems I eat and eat again, but If I am eating very rich or fully flavored foods, I am alot easier satisfied and don't eat as much. It seems as if the spices and flavors are more satisfying to my brain. Do the spices turn off the hunger pangs? Changes food intake capacity maybe? Is there any real validity to this phenomenon or is it all in my head? Have there ever been any conclusive studies done on this theory?

General Science / Is there a scientific basis to The Farmers Almanac

I hope this is the proper forum for this. I just had my interest peaked about this subject again, as I have not thought about it for a long time. With all the enphasis on the moon and gravity. Are the methods used in the planning of the Farmers Almanac of a scientific base, or is much of the information contained in it myth and wives tales?
