Is that  the same for spuds I have cut with multiple eyes? Is it the light and chlorophyll that cause the upward facing eyes to become foliage and the lower eyes to become roots growing down and spreading out away from the surface? seems that the position of the eyes matters to a spud...LOL..

So are you saying it takes on more weight as it stays or that there is fluid loss excreted from urine and breathing etc.. but that overall it gains mass??? I'm kinda confused?

Hi Sheepy of Interesting elbow Questionability!
    I think my elbows take first place there, They are also prone to calluses which might lessen sensitivity there.. that's as far as less feeling goes, then my  other least sensitive spots include my ear lobes and my knee skin. I am assuming perhaps there are maybe less nerve endings in that area, as far as skin goes, but the elbow itself has the Ulna nerve that runs from spine through your neck and down your humerus bone which is the long bone running down from your shoulder to your elbow in your arm, your ulnar nerve rests against that bone running down to pinky and ring fingers. That nerve includes the soft spot behind the elbow that we refer to as the funny bone, which is not a bone at all, but actually a section of your ulnar nerve. So I'm thinking less nerve endings in that elbow skin itself, but elbows are very sensitive when it comes to bumping or hitting the area we call the funny bone area..., but is actually your ulnar nerve..  One of your main nerves...it rests at the back of the elbow against the humerus, it seems less protected by muscle and tissue in that spot. I may be wrong! Perhaps an elbow specialist might  grace us with their explanation...and aid our inquiring minds with an answer that may delight our funny bone... OOOOH Lightbulb moment.. I bet that's where that area received its nickname because it's the soft area that is lying against the humerus bone...so perhaps why we call it the funny bone...

That is a very  good question! I have never thought about it visually! I am not sure, but as far as  appreciating that the left side of the hill has a soggy wet mud hole, that might attract a pig to wallow in,
 I might assume that this is a pleasant place for the pig to want to be, but as far as aesthetically pleasing to their mind as far as visual attraction, I'm not sure? Perhap a place close to water and a soft warm spot to lay in the sun etc for physical needs or such but to just want to appreciate its beauty or splendor may be more a human observation or pleasure..

I can Never seem to break Rules & Laws in Dreams...

I've never Killed someone, I've never been able to Float in mid air or Fly towards the Moon.

P.S. - for some odd reason, i do dream Alot!
Others do not share dreams as often as i do.
Anyone know Why?

You'll find many people do not remember their dreams.. For a long time I was not sleeping had bad insomnia and so was not reaching REM when I did fall asleep. My 5 sleep studies confirmed I was not reaching REM. Now that I am sleeping again I do reach REM and dream in full color. I used to have dreams of being injured and if I saw red blood in my dream Id have to wake myself quickly and move to bathroom, because every time I dreamed of seeing red blood, I inevitably would start my period, or menstrual cycle! I would have already started bleeding...

Well there ewe have it.......disgusting !!.....i think it received a little water damage as some of it was very saturated......still sweet but the texture of the cake sponge was all soft. Probably a preparation error from 2011.


Edible.....but not agreeable...... I am not in hospital and no stomach pump required........which is nice !! 

LOL I wondered about this...LOL Does not look very appetizing Kind Sir!

Karen, I am sorry to hear that you have multiple medical problems. Unfortunately some people get dealt a poor hand by life. Me, i'm lucky, at 71 just two pills a day, for slightly raised BP, which have no more side effects than placebo.

I don't feel was dealt a bad hand  rally as The health has been iffy since birth but due to amazing doctors technology my faith I have been given a really beautiful life. There was a time period of depression that came with the bad health but we dealt with that and counselling and medication were vital in getting me through that. This forum was a huge life preserver for me kept my mind working and got me through some really really rough times. The people  here and the ability to come here to read and learn helped keep my mind in the right places. Trying not to dwell too much on being sick. When my medical situation got worse I had to remove myself from a lot of my activities as my strength was not good and my concentration was really an issue when you are on large doses of morphine and antibiotics, bad diabetes, with screwed up thyroid, and late stage lyme disease, CHF, and the list goes on..Terrible pain in hips and deteriorated joints in ability to be active.. I felt like a pin cushion and like I was in a fog for a long time with severe insomnia! It took a long time to get them all in hand.. An d I now have my diabetes under control at a 5.1 and feel much better taken off over 100 lbs again and working and 50 more. So meds are just part of my life but they have enabled me to have a life and I am very grateful for them and my team of Doctors and friends here who supported me and at one point saved my life from thousands of miles away, by sending me to er when he recognized I was having a stroke by some things i had posted that were happening on that particular day... Thank you all for this great questions and all the answers.. This was a good question Psuedo-science....

As ever, the rule of thumb is "ask your doctor or pharmacist".

..How on earth did you find the time and discipline to take 38 meds a day?

I strongly suspect that the answer to that is "by considering the alternative".

Back to the question, then.

I don't think the object of the water is primarily that of precise dilution, but more likely to ensure that the pill reaches the stomach or wherever it is supposed to be, without getting lodged where it shouldn't, or gets dissolved  so as to be extracted by and dispersed in liver/kidney/bladder/other wobbly bit,  as required. If so, one glass with several pills will do the job, as long as the pills themselves are compatible and don't have to be taken in a specific time sequence.

That makes good sense.  I noticed a few years back that if I did not take a few swallows of water before attempting to swallow my pills that my pills would get stuck in my throat causing me to choke on them and gag because of the highly nasty taste they get as they dissolve while stuck.. So making sure I am not dehydrated is vital as swallowing is difficult when in that state!

Just how does a metal detector work?

Well this year I purchased 3 metal detectors! Two for children and one pretty basic adult size metal detector. Today while my grandson was here we went out to use his child version metal detector which by the way works about as well as the very expensive adult one I bought for his brother at Christmas. While digging for his treasure he began asking me about how the meal detector worked and I not having ever thought about it immediately began mulling it over in my head, thinking surely there must be something to do with magnetism that helped it find metal, but because I really had no idea about the basic principles of their workings, I refrained from giving him my immediate thoughts and told him I'd have to refer to others who knew more about it then I do, So what lovely things can you tell me about the inner workings of the metal detectors? if you can enlighten us on how they work, including any details my 7 year old Grandson might like to know? Like how they detect different types of metals etc,,, ? He is autistic and very bright and inquisitive!
Whilst giving me many of his own analogies, He was extremely excited to find his two little treasures .. LOL And old metal bottle cap off perhaps an old alka-seltzer bottle along with a large Bolt! He exclaimed That surely any pirates would be very frustrated by the people who have made metal detectors and by us for finding their treasures so easily!

It has to do with electrical permeability which is related to magnetism. Magnetism would only find ferrous materials, so not say copper, but a metal detector is quite good at finding copper objects.

The idea is that it puts out an EM field which energizes (sets up eddy currents in) anything that allows the internal formation of magnetic lines of force (stainless steel being very bad at this). Then it shuts off and detects ('listens') for the currents created in the objects below. So the object needs to be able to pass electrical current, and it's mostly only metals that do this.

A decent pirate would bury his treasure a little further than the range of most detectors, and they put it where people tend not to look for it. Metal detectors are great for coins and jewelry dropped in public places like parks and beaches where the grass and sand quickly hide small dropped objects.

It's nice to meet you Petrochemicals..  so what is it that you do at this point of your career? Are you currently working a job that involves your training in engineering?

No not presently, it was civil engineering I did but it requires the basics in physics and maths so became interested in science that way. ese days. I hope

OK, well it Is great that you are interested, and participate a lot in our forum, Its  nice to have your contributions. I have been away a long while and am shocked by how few folks are participating these days. I hope to see our  numbers go  back up again! It's a great forum with good information, and I for one feel I'm never too old to learn something new daily, or to understand many things more thoroughly then I have known, before.

It was the 60's and 70s, peace love and political freedom. Sports was becoming a huge industry... and women were goo goo eyed over guys like John McEnroe, Arthur Ash, Bjorn Borg.. a  very sexy swedish tennis player..  very athletic and handsome... It was at the height of the sexual revolution.... the age of short shorts, and muscles... Arnold playing tennis was a huge turn on for women all over the world.. LOL.. I'm sure the industry was making hand over fist money! I can remember watching the olympic tennis matches and swooning myself.. and even feeling embarrassed because I was looking at all those handsome men in all their glory.. Holy moley It was a huge time in the world when people were feeling like it was ok to come out of the stone age and express their sexuality and to admit to the obvious attractions of the human body! I remember in early 70's the first time I was allowed to wear pants to school and then my first pair of white go go boots and a pair of brown velvet Hot pants my sister gave me.. I rocked them like a star! LOL Or ar least I thought I did! LOL
