That RD posted in Neils apple thread!
Apples have long been associated with the biblical story of Adam and Eve, although there is actually no mention that, in fact, the fruit in question was actually an apple. In Norse mythology, apples were given a more positive persona: a magic apple was said to keep people young forever. Apples' most recent appearance in history occurred in the 1800s in the U.S., when Johnny Appleseed-a real person named John Chapman, despite the mythological quality of his tale-walked barefoot across an area of 100,000 square miles, planting apple trees that provided food and a livelihood for generations of settlers.

Hi Karen.
Sorry I missed this. Actually ‘John Chapman’ is just a username I use for this forum. My real name is Debora Smith, and I am a middle aged mother from Wales.
-
I am sorry that seems very deceptive seeing that your profile states you are a male from wales????
I guess that puts me in a position to not believe either one!
enjoy the forum.

I disagree, I think here we should be able to embrace people of all different sexualities and beliefs. If Deborah wants to be a man called John on here then that is fine with me.
Nothing on here is said under oath, or even with any degree of sensibility..
-
Variola, I have said nothing about this persons sexuality or belief! I too agree and embrace everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation..That being said, I rather enjoy John or Deborah's post's, none the less I find it very deceptive in our registration to state otherwise.. The same goes for children... I believe John or Deborah, just extended me a simple courtesy in answering my question.... and explaining that. My comment was just simply that it was deceptive, and I now do not know what to believe!...
Will only allow me to know how to pose future questions to John or Deborah!
There is need to

Thanks for that.. I noticed the original post by Rd in Neils apple thread and thought it cool that we too had a John Chapman and thought you may have been a distant relative... Is their any link to your choice of screen names..with Johnny Appleseeds John Chapman?

I'm sorry, Karen. The Debora thing isn't true. I was just pulling your leg. The truth is I'm of Mongolian extraction. 'John Chapman' is an Anglisized version of my name which I use because your language doesn't have the characters to be able to write my real name which is 你的新室友怎么样.
-
Your new roommate is very kind?
-
lo

lol...lol....NICE....

WHAT ROOMMATE???lol...
-
Your new roommate is very kind?
Now that's impressive. How did you know that?
Yes, yes. It's true. We Mongols sometimes pick strange names for their kids. (It's a little known fact that Bob Geldof is also Mongolian). The nearest literal English translation of my name is 'What do you think of your new roommate?' which, by pure coincidence, is also the first Chinese phrase that pops up if you Google the English phrase ‘Chinese phrase’!
Now that I’ve been outed as a fraud by the too-clever-for-his-own-good Chem4me, I suppose I’ll have to spill the beans about who I really am. I’ll be back with the truth just as soon as I’ve made it up a cup of coffee.
-
LOL....LOL...Your too funny!LOL...High five C4M!! LOL...Nice job! Hee hee hee...
-
...High five C4M!!
High five indeed, the clever ****!
-
LOL.. Hey sharesies ok.. I would like some coffee too.. You..have anymore..?
-
Ok. Really I am really a visitor from a planet orbiting Alpha Centauri in the Centaurus constellation. Me and Chem4me are both from the planet **** although we are of different species. I am a rather noble cloud of consciousness who can adopt any physical form, which is why I am so physically attractive. I try to keep out of public areas because women have a habit of spontaneously reaching orgasm as soon as I am spotted, which was rather awkward at a funeral I recently attended. Chem4me unfortunately looks rather like a giant slug with eczema after you’ve put salt on it. His looks are incidental because humans can rarely get past his putrid smell and giant puddle of slime.
We cannot tell you our real names because if you heard it your eardrums would certainly implode. Chem’s name sounds a little bit like scratching your fingernails down a blackboard with a poo splash at the end.
-
Yep, you heard the guy/noble cloud.
NOW PREPARE FOR TOTAL ANNIHILATION!
-
You are such Dorks..but you make me laugh all the time.. and for that I am always grateful!
-
NOOOOOO!
How did you know we came from DORK??
Hey John, it's time to go!!
-
Bugger. I was just about to say exactly the same.
Actually I've just wiki'd the word 'Dork' and it says
USA pejorative slang for a quirky, silly and stupid, socially inept person, or one who is out of touch with contemporary trends. Often confused with geek, but does not imply the same intelligence level.
No mention of us or Centauri. Bloody useless, that wikipedia.
-
Let me just nuke wikipedia before I go
-
... Often confused with geek, but does not imply the same intelligence level.
Don't bring me into this nonsense. I don't wish to be associated with either of these nutters.
-
Hee hee he,,, Wasn't that Mork from ork or was that mork from dork???? LOL....Men running away all the time! LOL..
-

LOL..OK you can just be associated with this nutter I think you may want to rethink your position! LOL.
-
Well, as we're all telling the truth now - I'm actually a giant geranium.
-
LOL...LOL....A Giant Geranium! LOL...
-
Excuse me, is this still English humour? I'm struggling here....
-
Being purple is just not easy.
-
Isn't a dork a whale's (not Wales) thingy? You know - its wedding tackle.
-
Excuse me, is this still English humour?
Humour? Wot do you mean humour?
You wouldn't think it's very funny if you had just travelled 4 1/2 light years sharing a dustbin sized slime filled spacepod with a giant melting slug that smells like sh1t.
-
lol..... doesnt sound like a good traveling companion... but then again.... you never know!
-
Hello Karen
Thank you for asking the original question.
In all seriousness, being British, I had heard of Johnny Appleseed and knew he was a character in American history but didn’t really know who he was.
The only famous person I am loosely related to is Cary Grant. He is genuinely my Mum’s Cousin. Her maiden name is Leach, which is also his natural surname. Actually I share a family resemblance with him as you can see from the two family photos below.

I never met the guy and he was blissfully unaware that he was related to someone from Alpha Centauri. But my Mum used to play with him when they were kids.
-
I would have played with him too! LOL.. I loved Carey Grant! Thats cool.. Well That was my only question although the rest of thee thread had gotten quite funny.. Thanks for the entertainment!
