Title: Is Chemistry4Me a clone?
Post by: John Chapman on 14/02/2009 18:55:26
I work irregular hours and over the past four days I have posted questions or answers at all times around the clock. Each time Chem4me has quickly responded with his usual brand of insight and good humour. Over this period he has always been available to offer an answer, day or night. Now the thing is this. I recently heard that if someone goes without sleep for more than four days they die! So that leads me to one of two inescapable conclusions: either Chem4me is about to die or there are more than one of him.

I subscribe to the second theory because he seems too quick witted to have been away from his bed for four days. By my reckoning there are at least two Chem4mes: a day one and a night one but, for all I know there might be hundreds. With his chemistry background and all that free space in New Zealand he could be churning out new chem4mes in batches of a dozen at a time. In fact the other day I'm sure he posted on three different threads at exactly the same time.

Would one of the Alpha Chem4mes care to comment?

Doesn't have to be a clone - could be an AI.

I could never be exposed as being an 'artificial intelligence'. Only one of those words apply to me. And unfortunately it's 'exposed'. [;)]

"I recently heard that if someone goes without sleep for more than four days they die!"

writing my final uni paper I went for five days without sleep (lots of coffee and no doze) .. I don't think I died. I did , however, start to have audio illusions.

maybe the voices in chem4me's head are posting.

Oh no! The Chem4mes are all arguing among themselves. Either that or I was wrong all along and he's Norman Bates!!  [:o]

lol

How did you go with your uni paper JnA? Did it make alot less sense than you thought it did at the time?

Yes, and what about the audio hallucinations? Did you hear voices in your head telling you you could be having more fun drinking and shagging. That's what used to happen to me. At least that what I told the Judge!

Are you addressing me or someone else?

I see that you have discovered these clones clowns running around without their brains screwed to their heads.
But never fear, if this (http://www.thenakedscientists.com/forum/index.php?topic=20285.0) thread is anything to go by, I will outlive them all!!! Mwaahaahahaahaa....

By someone else I mean, someone who does not have the same DNA as me.

I got a distinction for it.. so maybe the lecturer also went without some sleep.

:)

it was quite weird. I could clearly hear people talking to me. People I knew.. I remember my sisters voice very clearly.. at the time we were in different countries and didn't speak often, so I was either thinking in my sisters voice, or recalling her speaking from memories. But it was quite clear.. like I was actually hearing her, not thinking her (if that makes sense).

Hi JnA

That's really weird. Auditory hallucinations are fascinating. I'll have to see if there are any existing threads about them on this Forum.

Hi Chem4me

Hahahaha. Very good! But actually I was speaking to JnA about the voices in his (her?) head.

Her.
But unfortunately, her partner doesn't play for the Dragons [:(] [;D]

he's disappointed about that too.
