I remember having had very painful testis trauma several times when I was under 10. Sometimes when I biked I braked strongly I slide of the saddle and falled on the bike frame. Maybe this caused my POIS. This would be so dumb.

I simply don't believe that something, produced in our own bodies and that is inside us all the time, can lead to an allergic reaction......just don't make any sense to me....I believe in chemical or hormonal imbalance, due to the body's work to replace sperm. In few words, something(s) is(are) off the rails(of course....hehehe) in people suffering from POIS. Everyone have symptoms after orgasms, but "normal people" have balanced organisms that deal with those symptoms in a blink of an eye. We have just a retarded process compared to them.Of course, we must figured out how to speed up the process...that's why we are hereI have always felt that my testosterone treatment speeds up the replenishment of sperm. When I feel "full" more rapidly I have dramatically reduced my length of time suffering POIS.In the past, before TRT, the replenishment was VERY slow. And POIS lasted an agonizing 4 days, compared to hours now.

Yes, in this regard, check out this study, which discusses damage that can be caused by the injection of guinea pigs with their own sperm/testis:http://www.reproduction-online.org/cgi/reprint/22/1/119.pdfAnd, in the same regard, this article is somewhat scary!http://ihealthbulletin.com/blog/2007/02/13/vasectomy-may-lead-to-dementia-from-autoimmune-brain-damage/I am really worried now. These are EXACTLY the types of cognitive symptoms I get. I am sure this is autoimmune now. My only comfort is that we seem to recover from the aphasia; it is not chronic. Maybe no 'permanent' damage is being done?I think you're right now, semen could be mixing with blood somewhere along the way to ejaculation, causing this reaction. This also supports the 'subsequent ejaculation' recovery that we've sometimes noticed...

But I'm holding out for dr.Waldinger's theory. And I'm going to just see if I can't get involved in his research somehow. It was great that he wrote he was interested in having a phone call to some members. does anyone know if that's going to happen?
Is there a way to check out if brain neurons are still normal.
I've made copies of both papers, press releases, announcements, for my doctors. And I'm going in to see 2 of them this week to share the news of this study with them. I think it'll help to get the word out- and get awareness up. I'd encourage everyone to do the same!! demo- can we share this article with our doctors? Is it public domain now? Let me know if it isn't, cause my appointment is Monday! thanks

I worry about permanent damage too. We can take some comfort from anecdotes here on the forum. There are people here on the forum with cases similar to mine, but they have suffered for much longer, and they still seem sharp.I think it would be useful for Waldinger (or someone) to do thorough neuropsychiatric cognitive assessments of patients IN and OUT of POIS, so that we could see precisely what the cognitive problems are. We will then have a more precise description of the problem, which in itself will be useful for understanding, but it will also be much easier to relate POIS to conditions we know more about. This could lead to treatments.
It seems several people have developed POIS from trying enlargement pills.... See skewbald240http://www.reuniting.info/node/2647I wonder what is in these?

But when I'm out-of-POIS, it...ALL COMES BACK!Wish this could be investigated.

Let me know if it isn't, cause my appointment is Monday! thanksI think the general rule is no mass distribution, posting on the internet is not permitted. Personal sharing is ok, TO MY UNDERSTANDING. This is only my limited understanding. Just keep in mind that there is normally a price to be paid to access it, and be responsible. Seems to me like you are very responsible with it.

But I should say, the POIS worsened my tendency toward depression and made it more severe- but it's treatable with medicine. My cognitive ability came back fully though.
