Kids are a lot easier to manipulate than those old and experienced. And so it has been through the ages.
Not convinced. People can often find it difficult to see that they are being manipulated.

I'm surprised that I'm allowed to write about it actually :)

It doesn't matter though, what I say here, right?
As long as you keep within the rules you can post what theories you like, right or wrong. If you fail the rule previously discussed the script (which hasn’t run recently) will pick them up.

As you say, it doesn’t really matter what you post as you have no regular or committed readers and the search engine here doesn’t easily help to find previous posts.

Sorry, I have a backlog of saved drafts/quotes I meant to reply to, but ran out of time. I’ll try to catch up.

They don't have any 'dimensions', and that was what the koan was for Colin :)
Not exactly a koan

Quote from: yor_on on 24/02/2023 07:53:53
And probabilities and statistics are, as far as I know, consistent, creating  'laws', by their own.
I dont see how they create laws. They describe what happens.
The normal distribution of height in a human population would still be there even if we didn’t have the tools to describe and analyse it.

You won't adapt to a major tipping, or even a tipping cascade.
These are not the big problem.
The question is have we passed the point of no return, where our lack of capabilities and resources can’t stop us getting to a tipping point!

How many 'dimensions' for a super position? Or a entanglement?
I don’t understand the question, I don’t know what you mean by dimensions.
For an electron we usually measure spin along the z axis, one dimension. Entanglement exists in 3 dimensional space, there is no time dimension because the correlations are time independent.
Do you mean bases?

Quote from: yor_on on 18/02/2023 12:32:00
Without 'laws' like this probabilities won't exist. And statistics should become meaningless
Again, I don’t understand what you are saying. Probabilities and statistics are only a way of describing the behaviour of what you are calling ‘laws’. Statistics can’t become meaningless as they only exist if there is something to measure repeatedly.
True that if a rose didn’t exist we wouldn’t have a word for it, but that’s not particularly enlightening.

I have to admit that Colin might be right. It's meaningless writing about it, won't change a thing.
That’s not what I meant.
You obviously put a lot of time into researching this so it’s a pity that it isn’t being read. Most of your viewers look at 2 or 3 posts and then drop out, occasionally they manage a page or 2. So it is less meaningless than pointless and a waste of time.
You have enough climate change material to make a good website and really influence people. However, you would need to keep on topic and structure it to make easier reading.

Why are you preaching to an empty church?
If you were serious about this you would set up a website+Youtube channel and get some regular followers. Be a real influencer instead of hiding away here with no regular viewers - except Alan & me, and you’ve even lost him!

Theoretically one might want it that way but practically all geopolitics I've seen becomes a mix. I don't think you will get a correct picture without it Colin
The danger is not keeping clarity that they are separate causes. Lumping them together, even though they might appear together, blurs the true causes and leads to the conclusion that it’s all geopolitical. Which it is not.

As for economy I agree, it's a indivisible part of all geopolitics.
Although they often go together they are also often separate, not a good idea to consider them indivisible as it leads to woolly thinking.

Jays also do this in uk

Wrens just happen to live in an environment where this sort of planning isn't needed.
No point burying worms  ;D

It depends on what you mean by control Colin. Every successful state need a structure and a 'control', what we call governments and our other structures.
I mean limiting the actions of others.
Yes, we hand some control to elected governments expecting them to use the minimum necessary controls to enable a functioning society. Problems arise when those controls mean unreasonable restrictions eg limiting access to information or differing opinions. Bigger problems arise when a state decides to control another state, or is threatened by their unwillingness to be controlled; that can lead to war eg Vietnam as you mentioned.

if a wren eats half a worm, the worm will quickly grow into a full worm again. But wrens don't appear to ever do that. They always eat them whole.
A worm in the crop is worth two in the ground.

I would say more about econopolitics and control.

Ukrainians probably want the same as me, peace and quiet
Looking at their postwar history it looks as though they also wanted cultural change and the ability to decide their own future. That is anathema to any organisation based on control.

I won't glorify this war.
No one is asking you to.
Nothing in Alan’s post was glorifying war, nor was it patriotic nor flagwaving as you sometimes put it. So I still don’t understand your response to him or your subsequent comments.

Quote from: yor_on on 26/01/2023 09:21:56
Mr Putin wanted one kind of war, a fast incursion and change of leadership, one that the west didn't want him to get.
The west? I thought Ukrainians didn’t want it, otherwise they would not have resisted surely.

You want to waste time on patriotism, I don't Alan.
I, like Alan, don’t understand this comment.
Alan said nothing indicating patriotism. He was making a valid statement about the effects of aggression and dehumanisation.
I think your ideology gets in the way of your moral compass. Take a moment to think what is raising your hackles and why you are defending aggression.
I think you are choosing what not to see, morally blinkered.
