But when using Chrome......the last week has seen random words picked on a page and turned into clicky ads and highlighted in green when my mouse cursor runs over them ?

OK...I think I have cured it....apparently I had something called 'TEXTENHANCE'...which apparently had been " offered" to me !!..

I did not install or request or give permission but I seem to have opted out successfully !!

I'm using chrome and I don't get that.  Is it possible you downloaded something with a spammy payload in it?

Thanks JP...I guess I must have done. I'm usually quite the pedant when it comes to choosing the type of installation but I guess this one slipped by me ! I initially thought it was a TNS revenue stream but then quickly noticed it was not occurring via other browsers.

Cheers chum.

Is this Malware ?

Its adware (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adware) rather than malware ...

I'm plagued by an adware, apparently by enhance.com. It appears in all google search pages and even in my texts as green bold links with double underlines in the text.

If you install adblockplus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adblock_Plus) and NoScript (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noscript) on your FireFox browser it should stop FireFox being infected by this adware (http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/871383).

It looks like a very annoying feature.

Why are women highlighted...  but not men?

Actually, that is one of the things I don't like about Wikipedia.  Too many hyperlinks.  And, often the hyperlinks are to general pages, when one is actually wanting more specific details.

Possibly due to a greater demand for female "escorts" than for male (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rM1U8aESsFo).
