I've just discovered this book "Illustrated Guide to Home Chemistry Experiments" and am feeling inspired to set up a home lab.
The author's website has a list of things I'll need,[size=07pt](You may include a list of items you are looking for but without links to products and advertisements, Please!)[/size] but being an American book, his list of supplies is all American. So where can I get these things in the UK? Preferably inexpensively!

You should be careful what chemicals you order. These days, anything with which you could make explosives lights a little lamp down in the local Nick and they come round to see you .
And if you are 'a lad' that is one of the things at the top of your list, no doubt. It certainly was on mine - in the 1950's, when Mr Polyblank (in Plymouth) would sell you more or less anything over the counter - even if you were in School Uniform.

Nope, couldn't be further from 'a lad', well maybe when I'm in my 60s, but.... I'm female & in my 30s. I haven't memorised the whole contents of the book, so I can't say if it includes things that go bang, but its certainly not a primary motivator.
Its more the hardware I'm looking for at the moment - glassware, scales, etc. The only places I've found so far are Rapidonline (which seems to do most things in packs of 12. Even allowing for breakages it seems excessive!) & ebay (which would mean paying a fortune in postage)

Sorry. I'm used to posting on other forums & yahoo groups where its considered courteous to include links like that. No spamming was intended. Could someone please post me a link to the do's & don'ts so I can avoid any other faux pas? Thanks
