Hi, anyone here had an arthroscopy? I am having one. Interested in knowing how it feels and how long it takes to heal.

A friend of mine had one done on his shoulder back in January, the actual op itself is fairl;y straightforward. He went down for surgery about 8am, was back up on ward at 10.30 ish and was allowed to go home about 1pm ish.
The recovery time will depend very much on what you are having done, recovering from the op itself is fine. He had 3 small cuts, each less than an inch long and a few stitches in each, and a dressing on them.  They were takens out a few weeks later at the GPs surgery.
Main thing is not to overdo it, but to still keep exercising the joint while revcovering, and sticl to any physio exercisies you are given.
