Can a vector of stress represent a field?

Can a vector of stress represent a field?

Stress is often represented as a tensor.

It may also be possible to represent stress as a vector. The components of a stress vector may be associated with dimensions of space-time.

Stress has two types, pressure and shear. Each type is associated with a unique surface of stress.

Mass dilation and reciprocal forces relate the components of stress, leading to the Kruskal-Szekeres metric.

Is the substitution of a vector in place of a tensor a valid representation of stress?
