Hello, new member here of course. I just joined to try and maybe find out what kind of rock this might be. I found it on the sidewalk while I was out walking a few months ago and thought it looked kinda interesting so I decided to pick it up.

A photograph alone is probably not sufficient. Can you determine some of its properties?

Looks like some kind of slag. Or perhaps burned/melted debris.

Can you be more specific like how hard it is and what is it looking like in real?

Can you give a few more details regarding its properties and be specific like how hard it is and all etc.

conchoidal fracture, glassy surface, vesicles: this is either slag (especially likely if you live near an industrial area) or obsidian (volcanic glass)
