Prune juice ?

coffee

plenty of fruit and veg !

However, if , as indicated, you are in pain and have not moved your bowels for a while then perhaps a visit to the pharmacist or doctor is required

I thought it was "work it out with a pencil" ...?

"Chortle" - now that's a word I've not seen since the Dandy days!

I sent a quick reply but when I checked all I saw was a blank black  rectangle. here is the link I was trying to direct you to on you tube. Not in great taste at first with the icecream etc. but it makes sense after that.

SAme thing happened. I reported to the moderator. Anyway, the You tube  piece showed how squatting is how we are naturally built to evacuate, but we don't and so the intestine is the wrong shape to make evacuation easy. They recommend a stool(no pun) which lifts the feet and so makes the configuration of the innards more conducive to the passage of the matter inside.

Yeah, for whatever reason youtube vids do not show up well in these posts (I seem to remember that they worked at one point in the no-to-distant past). I have taken to adding a 'space' somewhere obvious in the url so interested people can cut and paste the url into their browser, and once the space is deleted, have a valid address to the desired link.

for instance, I believe you are trying to link to: https://www.youtube. com/watch?v=YbYWhdLO43Q   (remove the space between youtube. and com for a valid address)

You can search for related symptoms and then consult a doctor if been severe.

For constipation relief, try out natural remedy such as intake of mixed veggies (some high soluble fiber veggies along with insoluble fiber) that usually helps in solving many digestive problems.

If you think you are suffering from hemorrhoids, you can try a herbal medicine "Ayurhoids"

A common cause is not drinking enough fluids. Also, some medicines cause constipation particularly high strength painkillers like Codeine.

Whenever you get constipated you need to rethink your diet choices. Avoid white carbs (white rice, bread, pasta, etc), and eat more whole grains.
